Bobbin Head Cycle Classic (the "Bobbo") is a charity event organised by various local Rotary clubs to raise money for those in need.

There are 2 parts to the ride - the registration fees and the fundraising by the riders.  Although fundraising isn't a criteria of the ride, we'd love it if everyone asked friends, family, colleagues, and so on to support your ride.  Remember, all money contributed (over $2) is fully tax-deductible. 

The majority of the ride fees covers the essential physical costs we have to conduct a ride of this size.  There are permits, licenses, signage, marketing and other related expenses.  Note that everyone supporting the Bobbo is a volunteer - no one gets paid.  Then, the balance of the ride fees, and all of the fundraising goes directly to our Charities.  Click here to view our charities.

In a perfect world, we'd love for you to participate in the ride AND fundraise. But no, fundraising is not a criteria of entry. We'd love for you to ask friends, family, colleagues and even your boss to support your efforts.  Remember, all donations over $2 are tax-deductible.  You'd actually be surprised with how quick your fundraising will add up.  For example, just $10 from a friend and 2 more is already $30.  

Customising your profile means several things:

• Edit the standard text which explains why you are riding the Bobbo and raising money for the great causes it supports
• Upload a nice smiling photo of yourself – perhaps in cycle gear – it’s up to you!
• Set your fundraising goal – a figure that’s achievable but high enough to make a difference

Any funds you raise or donations will go into a foundation managed by Rotary from which the funds will be distributed to the charities we support. The foundation has “Tax Deductible Status” which means that you can claim a tax deduction for any donation you give of at least $2. We will send you a receipt for the amount of your donation which you can submit when you complete your tax return.
